Engineers Finding Occupied Escape Pods

I'm trying to unlock one of the new Colonia engineers and he wants 25 Occupied Escape Pods. I've spent over a day searching USS's and only found 16 so far in Degraded Emissions. Any hints on a faster method to find these things?

Running around on the surface will do considerably better than space signal sources, though not exactly fast.

You can also get a lot from the escape hatch on the megaship in the distress call at Luchtaine 1 ... or if you want a bit more excitement, one of the cargo bays on an Unauthorised Installation has plenty.

Are there any damaged megaships around? You can rescue escape pods from them. I think you're more likely to get escape pods in degraded emissions in an uninhabited system.

Thanks for the replies. I did finally get the quota by finding 2 back-to- back Degraded signal sources each containing 6.

filter galaxy map for thargoid attacked stations...there is only one now...in the bubble.Get a lot of heat sinks,collector limpets and a cold build if you can,and harvest them inside station,i got mine 25 in 15 min.

I know your already in Colonia so this wont help you,but it is the fastest metod.

There's a damaged megaship at luchtaine(spelling?) Planet A1, look for a distress call.
