Finding the Alliance

So, there I am, looking at my ever growing bounties that I can cash in at any Alliance location, and I go to my Galaxy Map. I sort by Allegiance, uncheck the Feds, imps, indies, etc, leaving only Alliance. And boom, there goes the entire star system.

I know that this is something thats easily fixed, but how? How can I find an Alliance system to fly to if none are showing on my maps? Do I need to go buy system data for some far away place to get to see some?

The Alliance should be in Green when you filter the map that way.
The Alliance is located "up" from Sol, as Y on the axis.
Alioth is the capital system if you search for that. It will be permit locked but in the middle of Allaince Space so you might orientate yourself.
Once in an Allance system or on the board check the system map.
Clicking on the station will tell you the alliengence of the station in question as there may be non-Alliance stations in the system and Murphy's Law the first one you try will be just that.
