The backlash against the ultraRight in Europe seems to be widespread.
Macron is consolidating a very strong position.
The chaos of Brexit and the problems Trump is causing has really focused the free world on the fact that they can't take their freedom or the protection of their values for granted.
I say this with sincerity - it is painful to watch this from inside the UK.

The Brexit will likely Crash the UK pretty badly. So this will serve as an Good Example to Voters to not Vote Radical Right.

I actually think the Right Wing is fairly Finished for now.
It might make a Comeback in 10-20 Years when this has been forgotten. But for now they are pretty much Down.
Apologies for the delay. I got a little frank with my opinion on the Engineer-grind cheating thread, and received a short ban.
Now, on to Finland.
True Finns are a typical right wing populist nationalist party. Timo Soini wrote a political science Master's thesis on populism, analysing how empty and dangerous is can be. He then spent 20 years putting his education into a field test.
He proved himself utterly amoral. He made claims about being "for the little guy" and of creating "a workers party without socialism". From the start, the party attracted reactionaries and xenophobes, but Soini always made a big show about how his party doesn't have any racists. Yeah...
He allowed more and more far right, full on racists into the party, swelling the ranks by any means necessary. Soini himself isn't a racist, I think, but he's a catholic conservative with serious issues regarding LGBTQ and the equality of women.
Eventually he lost control, having the party leadership hijacked (democratically) by a pseudo intellectual far right misanthrope and his cronies. Jussi Halla-Aho is famous for his racist writings, and is called "the Master" on a forum where the racists and fascists of Finland gather.

For about a day it looked like we had cause to celebrate, as the PM kicked the Finns out, and said he'd be looking for other parties to secure a majority. New elections seemed likely soon.
Unfortunately Timo Soini instread split his old party in two, and there are enough of his loyalists to keep the coalition going with 106 / 200 majority. Our crook of a PM (Juha Sipilä) gets to keep on trying his state capture plan with his National Coalition (think UK Tories) partners.
The nationalist populists are imploding, but we may still be in this mess for another two years
