Fire group capacity problem after chapter four

Hi there!

After trying out the great new mining system, I think some small changes are desirable.
Mining now requires the use of 4 different types of weapons (mining lasers, abrasion blasters, sub-surface missiles and seismic charges), this raises a problem, since fire groups can only accommodate two different types of weapons.

Commanders are now forced to constantly switch between fire groups just to mine asteroids (limpet management aside).
If the plan was to make the new mining experience as enjoyable and smooth as possible, I'm afraid this limitation won't allow it.

It would be great if fire groups could accommodate more than 2 types of weapons / modules.

I don't think this would give an unfair advantage to certain players, since everybody has a couple buttons to spare, regardless of controller choice.


Also, are prospector limpets absolutely necessary? Wouldn't it be better to use a mining scanner for prospecting?


What do you people think about this?

Almost all HOTAS I have viewed have several prominent buttons for 'trigger' usage. As a console player, I endorse this suggestion - fire group bloat is becoming a serious problem with the introduction of both the analysis mode (and its dependent scanners...for whatever reason, you still have to use firegroups?) and the new mining equipment.
