Fire Groups --> Chaff, Shield Cell Bank, etc.

Hello everyone!

This may sound stupid, but I have a kinda simple question.

I have assigned my weapons (Lasers, M.-Cannons) to fire group 1.
Chaff and Shield Cell Bank to fire group 2.

I understand the principle of this so far, but....

Is there a possibility to have quick access to the Chaff or SCB, without having to switch the fire group first? Can they be mapped elsewhere for example?

I ask this, because I want to react more quickly in certain situations....and switching to another fire group an then firing off that stuff sometimes causes me "finger trouble" and may take too long (I´m old) ;)

Hello CMDR,

Yes, in your control configuration you can assign Utilities (SCB, Chaff, etc) their own button/function which is independant of your firegroups, leaving you to assign weapons only to the firegroups if you want.

Bind chaff, SCB, and heat sink to a button combo ASAP. No need for them to be in a fire group.

Edit: each should have their own button combo- just to clarify.

example-

SCB = X + LB
Heat sink = X + RB
Chaff = B + LB

note- I'm on Xbox so swap out the X for square or circle or whatever shapes you PS4 bros have.

Hmm ok....I found the Heat Sink (in Cooling), which is assignable in the Controls Menu directly. Good hint, thank you!

But I´m still missing the Chaff and SCB. There is no "Utilities" in the Controls Menu. They also cannot be found in the "Weapons" unfortunately.

I also should have mentioned I´m on PS4....maybe one of those guys can help me out?

The item is a utility, I didn't mean a subsection named utility - my bad.

Control > Miscellaneous > Use shield cell bank

Chaff launcher is there, too, directly beneath it

I set chaff to square+L2 and heat sink to square+R2

Weirdly, the triggers aren't bound to face button macros by default. One of the best things I've done, as it's saved my life numerous times.
