Firmware 7.00 will bring Remote play of Elite dangerous (and other games) with any android device using android 5 or higher...

The Android version of remote play will have the "sony mobile" forced Exclusive device lock removed with firmware 7.00...
Android 5+ users will be able to do the slow activites of Elite dangerous with out requiring a Mac OS or Windows 8.1-10 PC or IOS remote play apps...

Official bluetooth DS4 support (not third party support add on ) will also arrive to android. if you have android 10 os, this will bring an end to having to install third party apps and by passes to add support for the full DS4 usage... Android 9 and lower still have to do this... android 10 users don't...

And yes as a spin off of this is "some" android HDTV OS that run android might be forced to support the same remote play app... so that secondary android HDTV you could not use with out moving the physical PS4 to it. might be an option for when your Primary TV is stuck in use with your partners watching it...

I read it like three times and I'm still not sure what you're talking about. I'm sorry how does this work? Last time I tried remote play on PS4 I had to be on the same Wi-Fi as my ps4, which completely defeats the purpose. because, why would I play anything on my phone whilst at home if I'm capable of playing it on my 65 inch 4K HDTV. Otherwise, how would that work?

seriously I'm confused

Remote play works from any were on the planet with a supporting broadband connection... not just in your same house...

If your down the pub open the remote play app connect to the pub wifi Play any of your PS4 games... while drunk at the pub...

If You have been dragged to a family event at your uncles 200 miles from your house and all the women have taken over the only HDTV and your not allowed to drive back home for another 6 hours... open remote play app, connect to your PS4, play any of the PS4 games you own...

Got the night Shift at work and your the only person there And its lunch time... Launch the remote play app... connect to work Wifi and play any of your PS4 titles...

You go on holiday to a nice beach... the beach house has wifi... You take out your android samsung tablet and play any PS4 title..

IF you go any were with a supported Broadband connection remote play app can remote access the PS4 and play any game content at that location its never been restricted to a single location...

For those Who live in correctly built Broadband and fibre countries you never needed to be in front of the Console to use the PS4 games...
For Single console and single HDTV families remote play use means instant access even if the single display devicce is in use for other things like Netflix or Prime or being used as PC monitor to do the tax returns...

You can now do this on Any Android device(5+), you are no longer required to buy a Sony mobile android device and pay the sony mobile tax to get access to remote play app...

Does that mean you paid out for a Sony mobile 5 years ago then, When you now don't need to...lol...
Not sure that I've got the joke cause I don't know what Sony mobile is. Sorry, can't share your lol here. 🙃
I wanted the announced remote play 5 years ago.

Playing Elite Dangerous on a phone seems less than an optimal experience to me. I'd rather play the forums on my phone and ED on my monitor when I get home.
not just phones..
Android is on more than sony mobile phones...

Tablets
chromebooks/ Linux PCs running anbox..(may be)
Fire tv box and other media boxes... Nvidia sheild TV and so on...
That 56 inch HDTV at the California time share flat, you spend 2 months at every year, but theres no way your putting the PS4 any were near a spirit/BA airlines check in to take it there... but the Android media box can be put in the carry on...

I can vouch that it is indeed terrible. You need to wake up your resting PS4 from your phone over whatever wifi connection(s) you have, link your phone to your PS4, link your controller to your phone via bluetooth, then hope that messed up connection chain actually works fast enough to control your ship - and never drops in combat, while scooping, while landing, etc. Then there's the screen size.

Why just not play on you're Ps4 and Tv ?
I've played PS4 games on my laptop using Remote Play. I was in my home on a LAN in a different room, so it was a good picture. It let me play my PS4 in a different room with no TV, so there's that. I found it a bit of a novelty, however, and not anything I would use regularly.

I just use my Vita

But now I can use my Laptop, Hurray!

And the application IS DRM'ed when connected to PS4...Screen shots and recording is blocked on android app lol...
So no photos or videos of it in use from me...
As you need another camera to record it as Your primary device is in use...

Works with zero disconnects on fire tablet 7 so far but wifi N ping is not great... does need Wifi A, AC or AX...

Update = DS4 via Wireless is as they stated OS version locked even with third party software... DS4 is not usable on tablet via wireless as its not running Android 10...
App Is not Anbox supported so No Linux PC usage, has the standard blank screen failure in anbox...
Edit = Same OS version lock out stop media boxes from working with remote play App as the DS4 is required...
update 2 = ping lag of the tablet wifi is making touch controlls lag to much on the tablet...
I got in front of the HDTV finaly to compare lag and the tablet controlls is way way behind the PC version...
Will be sticking with PC version and more batteries for the laptop ( Yes, it old enough to still have user replacable batteries :p )

I just want it to run like it did in August on my PS4.

Am I the only one seeing horrible glitches and pauses during jumps, general manoeuvres and audio dropouts every so often ?

These were occasional before Sept update, now they're constant.

I get that. But if I'm at the pub, who is going to turn on and start up my game and then start second screen? Doesn't that need to be done from the PS4 itself?

The way it was described by Sony it's no different than what was already available, also you have been able to connect a PS4 controller to an Android phone for years , and the update says that it's a new feature.

Lies. They just announced features that has already existed and told us all the hey we're new because almost nobody knew about them.

No thats what wake from Ethernet is for. Same way as remote download from PSN store on PC web site works...
Your PS4 ISP provided public IP address and hardware mac address are stored on PSN severs with the allready existing spyware built into every PS4 and when you sign in on the application that info is accessed and the console of choice is turned on...
Scares the crap out of Pets and Old people when it self boots...

This tech is also included in the Second screen application but that is LAN only not external networks...
Managed to get photo finaly.. (before DRM kicks in)
