First Community Goal

I never go to community goal from beginning years ago convinced about the dumb mechanic and community.

I just made a try.

Entering the station with 500M worth ship, a naked sidewinder throw itself to my ship destroying himself and the station shoot me in 3 sec.

Everything gone exactly as i hoped.

CG are not a reason to play this game...

I was standing this one, ok my speed must have been 101m/s, i was full thrust landing gear out. So that it 101 or 102m/s. My fault, but i really don't care for credit in this game, i was just verifying my first thought.

First rule of Community Goal - Don't play in Online [edit] Open! (unless you like being ganked by the idiots that camp there)

[edit] yeah I meant Open, it's all Online innit ... oops!

Play solo really don't interest me, sometime i try to find reason to play this game but each time it end like this, meaninglessly.

I never imagined inside station could have such DPS, insta destroyed the most strongest shield that can be.

That's what I said. LOL. It's late!

Well if you want Co-op, join a group like Mobius. But - remember, if you're sharing the instance with other pilots - you'll be competing for kills in a combat zone or bounty hunting in a RES site - so Solo is the best way to spend your time in this type of CG. (or perhaps in a Wing, I've not tried)

I'll also warn that you're probably also picking a harder-than-normal CG to start out with - as this is based in Combat Zones and once you pick a side, you'll be a bulls-eye for the opposing NPC ships.

If you are looking for money making CG's and less risk - Look out for the bounty hunting and trade CG's for an easier introduction. Check the Community Goals sub-forum for threads about the active CG's and tips how to progress (always see post #1) ... and well don't be too quick to judge a community based on one idiot. We all meet them, we learn to avoid them and not feed "their game".

I've done lots of Community Goals, and play in Open virtually the whole time. I've never had a problem with gankers or suicidewinders. If it was as big a problem as people on these forums suggest, I expect to have encountered some kind of bad behaviour by now.

But nope - everyone's been friendly.

So, bad luck OP and better luck next time.

Always follow the speed limit in high traffic areas, unless you have an existential reason not to.

If I'm in an expensive ship, I just grind my way through the suicide attackers at 97m/s...unless I've just been attacked by station miners, have no shields, and am running from volleys of seekers/packhounds, then I just boost through them on my way out and hope I'm out of range of the stations weapons by the time they finally explode.

Yeah there was some moron doing that today. No idea what makes people do that, it isn't spaceship combat, it isn't anything....oh well, just a mild annoyance.

Confirmation bias.

Whats the fun of doing this? Maybe if someone explains it to me i will do it too ;-).
Better to be greived by a CMDR than the game itself.
Yesterday flying to planetary outpost with some passenger missions in my cutter. I get ready to land and see skimmers falling.
I think "now i know what people are saying on the forums" and WHAM station is hostile and killing me in seconds.
Missions gone, faction rep down, 46M rebuy.......
Ahhhhh this is why its called: Elite DANGEROUS :).

Now i know not to land on planetary outposts till its fixed, maybe its meant to be like this just some extra difficulty :).

Happy flying

I love threads like this.... People flying in large ships and not knowing how the game works !!!!
My suggestion is in place of the fast money, take the time to learn the game.

Does CG stand for Community Griefing?

LoL... It probably does in Open :p Repped.

Perhaps I'm overly paranoid, distrustful of people in general, expect others to behave negatively and/or destructively; accompanied with a general mindset that leads me to believe playing in Open is for those looking for trouble... That may be entirely erroneous and the large support for Mobius may just be a paper tiger.

Then I think what a thin veneer civility is, and stick to my private group to avoid all this hassle... At least until proven otherwise.

Edit. The flip side of this is that as a rule, this forum is exceedingly helpful! It's typically the polar opposite of the kind of behaviour I expect to find in Open play. Perhaps it's a case of the 80:20 rule, were it's the 20% that play in Open and post on the forums. The other 80% just get on with their ganking and don't bother posting on the forums.
