First complaint about the game ever.

Since i bought the game i had minor problems but today i just have to rant about the Group matchmaking.

So i got invited to X system for a good trade run. We were in a group of 6 CMDRs all traveling together. I could not see the other CMDRs in my group. At first, i could see other CMDRs that were not in the group... But after a while, Nothing... Not a CMDR in sight, just npc's. We were doing luxuries and even the luxuries trader disappeared as soon as i arrived in the instance, leaving me with a whole lot of nothingness. Then CMDRs would pop out of no where and then disappear seconds later... Warping me from instance to sub instance to other instances.... On top of that there is my friend telling me how epic it looks jumping at the same time with other CMDRs, following each other and enjoying the only feature i want to see working. But obviously its too much asked. I know the game is not finished yet... I know its missing content. I can live with that. BUT THAT ? What is that !! You make a multiplayer game where the multiplayer IS NOT EVEN WORKING.

No dont tell me its not a multiplayer game, ive seen it too much in many posts. It is a multiplayer game no matter how hard you think you are right.

Ive been patient... Now is the time where someone tells me they are gonna fix it really really soon.

Yes for the very first time in this game my face is red with anger.

No its not my internet connection.
No its not my computer.
No its nothing on my end.

Just leave the silly ship paints aside and..... MAYBE.....

JUST MAYBE... Fix it so i can play with my friends ?

Ill go punch a wall and then back to playing

Adding all of the other commanders to your friend list increases the chances of being paired in the same instance with them.

If you read the dev update from the 15th, both patch 1.1 (February) and 1.2 (March) are going to be focused on multiplayer.

I think the update coming next month has some improvements in this area but realistically it will be the Wings update in March that will see most of these issues resolved.

I had this and other problems, I got them fixed. I just recently informed somebody else how I did it over here.

You might have UPNP/firewall issues, which can severely break the p2p networking that ED uses right now, which seems to cause the symptoms you are describing (and worse).

Give it a try, it worked for me!

I hear you. My fiancee and I have been trying to get into the same instance for a week so I can help her learn how to play the game. She finally gave up after another hour long attempt last night. So the game's lost her attention till wings is added.

I'll try to get her back in before then but knowing her... ED might be dead to her.

My point being since the game is released, Frontier can't be expect people not to be frustrated by the state of the game. I myself am pretty patient but most people that bought in post launch aren't going to give this game a second look if it stays like this too long.

Just an aside, the people doing the art are most likely not the same people doing the networking. Just because we get new skins or new stuff too look at doesn't mean someone else isn't trying to nail down these problems with multiplayer. Understand the frustration, sure it's being worked on for a while now. Really sure they'd love to have the mother patches of all patches that causes everyone to start posting, wow, I can play just like I wanted to now!
