Greetings fellow bug hunters!

We all know it is only a matter of time. Yes, time before those pesky insects come out of the crack they have been hiding in. Some of you want to "hug-a-bug" for first contact but this will only mean you will pick up the infestation and return it to human space. Decontamination of all human colonies will be required after that, so we at Lab 69, the more sensible and pragmatic wing of the Canonn, thought it best to give you some guiding pointers on how to survive first contact without "hugging".

DOs

  • Record everything
  • Make sure you have a fully stocked ship
  • Gun ports open - you know, for "respect"
  • Shoot to kill
  • Dont let them get behind you
  • Get a decent photo of you with your alien kill
  • Scoop any "escape pods" for later study- Actually we want to stuff them and mount in the Lab Reception but we only need one for that. Oh and the Lab Chef wants one to stew. We hear it is an aphrodisiac... ;)
  • If all else fails RAMMING SPEED!

Donts
  • Hug it
  • Kiss it
  • Fall in love with the alien freaks
  • Miss when you shoot them
  • Run away
  • Attempt to study whilst it is alive

Simples!

You might be all that stands between humanity and a subjugation by the Bugs.

I'm actually quite staggered that this comes from someone in the Canonn.

I would expect this sort of aggressive, warlike, 'defence', hyperbole to come from the Federation, not from scientists. The fact that you missed anything about 'communication' off your list is just amazing.

With an attitude like yours it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Let's hope first contact is not made by you or anyone like you.

And yes they may be hostile, but apparently no less hostile then you are.

Goddamit.. they are not Thargoids. They are not bugs. Whoever they are.. They want to show us truth. Probably exactly truth about Thargoids.

This, for God sake, can we at least in a game be better of what human being has showed in our past history?

I will bring guns, but to use them against any cmdr that will dare to shoot whatever sentient life form we might found.

Well, so far as I can tell, LAB 69 are effectively the Canonn's Section 31 so this shouldn't be too much of a surprise.

i'll try and be peaceful at first contact. But i'll not go in unarmed or weak.

If whoever or whatever attacks I will fight back and the Federation can sort the aftermath. I'm not getting spaced for anyone.
