First Earth Like World Problems

See what I did there? ;)

Anyway, On this trip to the core, I am trying to explore more along the way instead of just buckeyball. Found a lot of systems with water, ammonia and ELWs lying deep around stars further out in the system. Sometimes I just can't do it.....250k, 300k, and further......how far is too far sometimes for people? I know the point is to explore not just honk, scan and jump.....I do both, all depends on the mood, but man, sometimes I just see that water world 300k away and I just jump.

Yes, a real dilemma. If it's an ELW I might travel 100-200kls to get it. Probably not further than 100kls for a ww

For a ELW I go everywhere, no matter how far it is. Think positive, the trip will be totally uneventful, giving you time to get a new drink or take care of other human needs :) .

I never skip ELW's, WW's or AW's no matter how far they are. I'm usually not in a hurry to get somewhere - I explore to see what's out there, these worlds being near the top of the list. If such a planet is so far away, I point to it and read something as my ship travels. Books, forums, online articles, whatever I'm in the mood for.

I've traveled over 400k ls for a WW. Apparently could go twice as much for an ELW....

Is a combination of factors for any other planets....300k ls away there is a branch of the system that has 2-3 ww, with 6-7 metal, all terraformable, with 1 possible ammonia, would you skip it? That system alone might be worth around 200k -300k credits!

But one ammonia only? Nope.

One ww, even if terraformable? probably.

There is no "one approach fits all". Each system is different and should be assessed differently.

I need to use the planet sounds more. I tend to listen to music with headphones while exploring. I did find a class III gas giant last night with water-bourne life (I think that was the description). That was pretty cool, or more common than I realize. It took me out a ways into the system but there was just something about it that made me take a look. Glad I did.

And then I find a forum entry like "The Weaver and the Cowherd", and when I remember to look after my controls, I find that I overshot by 20 kls or so...
