First EDSM Record

I just noticed today that I have a record on EDSM for the coldest DAB White Dwarf star. My first and only record on EDSM! I explored the system back in May but didn't notice that until today...

So, I just thought I would start a thread asking about any records that y'all have. This could be on EDSM or personal records if you track such things (I know not everyone uses EDSM). If you are one of those who seems to have a bunch of records, what was your first? what are you most proud of?

I also really want to find a Helium GG. I have found a lot of HRGG's and am currently exploring a region that seems to be very Helium rich. Maybe I can get my name on another record if I find some of these elusive things...

So far there's only one known procedurally generated one: Ooch Chrea US-U d2-21 2.
Been scouring the Ooch Chrea space for several weeks now, not even a single Helium-Rich GG found so far, so hopes for another Helium GG are quite low. BIO sites seem to be remarkably rare in the region too.

The region I'm in right now I have found 40-50 HRGG's (26 in all my time prior to this) and most seem to be between 32%-33% Helium which are some of the higher numbers I have found. I'm going off memory so don't quote my exact numbers but I feel like I'm on to something. In all honesty I don't really expect to find a Helium GG but I will remain hopeful for now!

Speaking of HRGGs, I've found one just yesterday:

Looks like procedurally generated to me.

Speaking of records, I used to have three of them listed in EDSM but now only one is still valid: the highest MS Star. :)

HRGGs are rare-ish, but very abundant compared to HGGs.
There's only one procedurally generated HGG known, but thousands (if not tens of thousands) proc gen HRGGs.

I had a whole bunch of distance records on white dwarf variants a while back. Almost exactly 2 years ago I did a trip to the far side to see if I could get some "distance from Sol" records, and ended up getting five of them. They all lasted a few months, and one by one were eventually beaten.

I finally found my first Ringed ELW a few days ago. And also my first A (Blue-White super giant) star.

These are the only things left I need to find (WD being White Dwarf) - everything else I seem to have first discovered:

F Supergiant
G Supergiant
M Supergiant (I believe these can't be found, seems they don't get proc genned)
C
CJ
WD D
WD DAZ
WD DAV
WD DBZ
WD DBV
WD DQ
WD DCV

Nice, I still haven't found myself a ringed ELW so that makes me a bit jealous! My discovery rate of ELW's has actually dropped significantly lately. I'm not sure if the apparent Helium rich region I am currently exploring has anything to do with it but in about 150 - 200 systems I haven't found a single ELW and only a select few AW's and WW's, most of which haven't been very interesting. I did find an AW and WW binary which was kind of unique ( I think).

Actually, now that I think about it, I have noticed that HRGG's seem to appear the most in K and G c-mass systems so that is mostly what I have been targeting assuming that a HGG may follow the same criteria... that probably doesn't help my ELW discovery rate any since from my understanding they are most common in d-mass systems. I still scan the other systems in the area that aren't K or G stars but since I noticed a drastic reduction in Helium content in the GG's of these systems I have been leaving them for last.

After a mammoth WD-ELW hunt a few years ago I had around 6 records for White Dwarf systems but time has erased most of them and if someone finds a slightly hotter DAV White Dwarf I'll have lost them all. But records are there to be broken :)

I'm afraid C, D and DQ are all non-proc-gen (AFAIK), so chances to get a first discovey on any of those are quite slim.

CJ/DAZ/DBZ are a challenge, but quite doable with a little research (and some searching of course).

Yeah, I won't be too hurt if someone beats my record. I only got it by dumb luck anyways!

That being said, there doesn't seem to be a hard upper limit on the temperatures of different bodies but does anyone know if there are hard lower limits in place for temperatures? I ask because a lot of the "coldest" records seem to be pretty round numbers. Mine being 8001 K makes me think 8000 K is a likely lower limit leaving 1 K for it to be beat by. Just speculating.

Edit: I was looking mostly at planets, not stars. A lot of stars are very close to nice round numbers though.

Nice one.

Best I got is first name on a Wolf-Rayet.

And first to discover a system with space spikeys.

That is about it with 896 systems or so visited(first to visit). Cant be that high, surely?

Just checking edsm, there is some discrepency between the figures and official figures. EDSM logs me at 7209 unique systms visited, while ED says its 6128. My reckoning is maybe got just under 500 first discovered, probably a lot less vs edsm's 896. Maybe there is a bug at EDSM right now ?

EDSM has my logs back to 2016 when they first went over to the new format(not just the old netlogs).

Something does not add up.

Didnt know helium giants are so rare.

Only 1 proc-generated helium giant in game so far ??

Some things seem really rare but there are parts of galaxy they are pretty common like carbon stars for example.

Just would think helium is really abundant in the universe there aught really to be loads of planets primarily consisted of it.

I just checked and I hold the record for the most DCV White Dwarves in one system. It's an obscure record but it's mine.

I also have tied the records for hottest F (White Supergiant) star and heaviest T Tauri star.
