That would probably be because you can't fly in an atmospheric planet, the only bodies you can fly down to and land on are airless.
That's true but I miss the whole experience of flying planetside as in firstencounters
I see what you mean, however the 2020 update is supposed to be a game changing update, so I expect we will get atmospherics and legs at the same time, but the important thing is they do it right I suppose, better late and excellent than early and poor.
Would like it to be a bit of a challenge when visiting those planets too. E.g. Not just nosedive until mass lock. Instead have the demands of (say) managing the angle of descent vs heat buildup from atmosphere pressure etc. Perhaps the devs would then also introduce a atmospheric computer to assist like a docking / FSD. That'll be good. Going back to lazaran's point though this part of the game does need a graphic facelift. That should help sell more ED games too.
