First Exploration outside bubble

Good morning i went on Thursday outside bubble, i found many star's and recently i just found Neuron Star.. Because i found myself still new to game, i'm pathfinder rank on Elite, and in not best ship which has 25LY jump, in this journey i jumped i think more than 500 times.
Now my question is i don't seem to find any outpost there, now i am not in any squadron, expolorating alone.

I'm looking with FSS sccaner, and still no luck, now i am stucked in neuron star system, can't jump to another system 100Ly away, i'm thinking to use Neuron Star as jump fuel. Or to plan another route, coz i never used Neuron Star as jump highway, is it hard to use it ? And thanks on reply

Without knowing where you are, again, it's hard to help. You say you're stuck in that system and have never tried neutron-jumping before, so how are you stuck? Did you use synthesis and now you're out of materials?

I went on explorating deep space search for black hole. When i found one i wanted to see and come back to bubble. For now i'm still 5.000LY from bubble. Neutron stars helped me for FSD supercharge, i didnt use any synthesis just went out solo and with normal modules. Still new player dobt know really how to use synthesis. For now i am coming to bubble to sell cartography and i should try synthesis and again i will go outside in deep space.

Are you carrying a surface scanner? If not, do. Then, learn which planets are valuable and map them too. That way you will be able to afford a fully prepped exploration ship in no time.

About synthesis: With certain materials you can get better range in the next jump, recharge ammo, refuel the SRV, etc. We call the synth that boosts the range "jumponium". Unlike neutron stars, it will not damage anything in your ship. The caveat is you have to have the materials required for the synthesis.

Go to the right menu and check the different sections in the inventory tab. You will find 3 different FSD injection options that will give you 25, 50 and twice the range in the next jump. The more range added, the rarer the materials needed.

If you did some mining, you may have the basic materials already. If not, you can get them landing in a planet that has those materials (check bodies description, 2nd tab on the system map and hover over a planet) and using the SRV to find them.

On exploration trip, there are 2 kinds of synthesis you may need to do:
1. FSD Injection to increase jump range. The materials for injection is also knows as Jumponium
2. Synthesize Ammo for AFMU and Limpets for Repair Controller module.

Neutron jumps although helps with faster travel, every boost eats away part of your FSD. So every so often you have to stop to repair the FSD using AFMU. Repair limpets are only to repair the Hull damages. You can get a complete deep space exploration done without using any Neutron, it will just take you longer to get to a particular destination and availability of Neutrons along the way.
If you are planning to go on long exploration of any sort, my recommendation would be to fill up materials you will need for synthesis. A quick trip to Crystal Shards will help you immensely loading up all your materials need for Synthesis or Engineering.

Here is a DBX build I am planning I am planning to take on my next extended long exploration:

Thanks on reply. I didnt knew about synthesis when i came back from first exploration. I went with normal modules. Yestarday i went to Farseer INC and got my first synthesis. But i really sidnt know about that i will need again materials. So how much time synthesis last. And yes when i come back from work will figure about my next destination. I have dss and surface scanner. I like to explore i think already i have one destination to visit. I used DBX for exploring but when i came back i went back on asp explorer but my DBX have higher jump rate. Dunno should i use asp or dbx. Wish You luck in exploration. And thanks for replying. Cheers

Engineering and synthesis are 2 different things.

With engineering you modify a module permanently. If you improve the FSD for range, you will be able to jump more everytime as long you have that module installed in your ship. Those modules can be transferred too. For example, the 5A module of the DBX can be moved to the ASP X.

"Jumponium" synthesis is valid only for the very next jump. Once you reach the destination system, the effects are gone. Think of it as some kind of aditive to the fuel that gets used once you jump.
