Day 31:
Well I got to here..

Will take an hour or two R&R and play around in one of the four srv's I brought with me (would seem a shame not to have landed once, I guess)
before beginning the return leg of my journey..
Have visited just over 2000 systems on the outward leg and hope to visit 6000 more (minimum) coming back,
I figure if I can maintain a 20k cr per system average I should get to Elite on my return..
I naively thought the entire trip would take 2-3 months, but now expect the return leg to take at least 12 weeks..
Barring a few drop outs and overheats due to clumsiness the trip has been fairly problem free, altho' there was the time I had to return to Sol to fit a
Detailed Surface Scanner after 750k ly (something I may have forgotten to mention earlier
)
and one occasion where I couldn't plot a route, until I realised I was at the top of the Galactic plain and not the bottom *facepalm*..
I will refrain from making any more posts for the duration of the return leg except to post pics of anything special I stumble upon ( first Black Hole, ringed ELW,
Thargoid invasion fleet)..
And of course an update at the end of the trip, hopefully with screenies of a successful return and not a tale of woe..
I've said this before elsewhere, but I will say it again here.. I never really "got" exploration, but having tried it I do..
so much so that the thought of plodding thru' 3x the amount of systems going back as coming out, actually sounds quite exciting and I relish the opportunity to find even
more "good stuff"..
Fly safe..
