Horizons First few hours: Not perfect, but certainly very good.

First point: This has been the most stable I have ever seen the game on a major patch day. Only one crash all night (coming out of glide on approach to a planetary settlement), and no disconnects.

Second point: I own all the paintjobs for the FdL, and the Black Friday one is far and away the best-looking on this ship.

Third point: I. Love. The. New. Missions. Especially the "stay alive" missions. I like the idea that my combat pilot can also get work as a secure courier. Offers a nice, adventurous alternative to bounty hunting and merc work all the time. I haven't tried all the new mission types (and some of them I probably won't, they don't suit my in-game persona), but the ones I've tried are great.

Fourth point: Planetary settlements. So glad that not all the planetside work out there is for the explorers (nothing against the explorers, but I like that there are settlements and missions and such to give the rest of us reasons to land on planets, too). Of course, now I'm going to have to figure out how to cram a vehicle bay into my FdL, but... I'll live.

Seriously, except for the one crash (only one crash on patch day? And no disconnects? I'll take it!), this has been a singularly great experience.

Hats off, FD - everything I've tried so far, you got right.

I was struggling to find interesting planetary missions earlier today, as I bought and kitted out a Hauler just for planetary landings. Then I decided to sell it and go back to my stored Type-6, and give up one class-2 slot for a vehicle bay. Next mission I found was a delivery to a surface base of 99 units of gold, just 2 hops away for the type 6. The payout was just over 1-million credits.
