Overall, I love a lot of the changes:
Things I'm not too happy with:
But overall, very nice job and kudos to the Frontier team. New stuff to learn and things to do and a huge galaxy to get them done in! [up]
- The menu systems are much easier to navigate, I don't mind the outfitting screens as they seem to give more detailed information and make it easier to sort out the internal mods
- The missions are more dynamic, changing in the middle. Not bad as long as it suddenly doesn't require you to haul what would have been a legal trade to a station that has banned it.
- Tire tracks... I love this, makes flying your ship closer to the POI easier when it lands 1 km away.
- Much more varied salvage on the surface of the planets.
- the police show up much faster, but they scanned me... Much more of that going on. I even got scanned going into a planetary base! That's gonna change smuggling, be going to Anarchy Systems more to get rid of the loot!
- Love the galaxy map improvements.
- Love the comms chatter!
- the buff to the stations graphics is nice
Things I'm not too happy with:
- I've been to 3 planetary bases and no salvage or rescue missions at all. Not sure if that was just bad luck or what but they used to be plentiful and easy to find.
- Too many factions. I opted out of the Power Play horse crap because even when I get lots of time to play I'll never remember how is what, let alone who hates me because I decided to do a mission for a rival faction. I'm a casual player, if I had to describe my play style I would say I'm basically a trader who likes to do a bit of exploration on the side (mostly for profit!) and who will fight when cornered. I don't go out of my way to break the laws or kill people. I don't have time to figure out all the faction do and don't. I quite frankly won't remember them and I will get frustrated if I have to try. I like being an honest trader.
- by far, most of the missions that end up in my list are blow up this or kill someone... Not my play style.
- Wasn't too happy last night to find that the commodities for sale at planetary bases has been neutered. For instance, I took a mission to secure some performance enhancers for the Armstrong Station in Cupis. I said hell yes, all I have to do is bop over to the Green Keep station in Frigaha and they have it for a great price! So off I went and low and behold... They don't sell them anymore. Why? I went to another planetary base in another system that I knew had them... Nope, none here. I finally sourced them in a orbital station, filled my hold with them and got the message to deliver them to another base, which I did. The only problem there is that the extra I bought that would have made me a bit of a profit at the Armstrong Station would now have to sold at a loss at the new delivery point. And not just a small loss, I'm talking about a 2,000 credit loss. I bought them for around 6,500 and they wanted to buy them for just over 4,000... Nice for them but I sucks to be me.
But overall, very nice job and kudos to the Frontier team. New stuff to learn and things to do and a huge galaxy to get them done in! [up]
