Get yourself some autocannons and do a kill that way. It's just so visceral!

But dammit! I wish FD would lower the price of ammo!![]()
I've been involved in lotsa kills - but unfortunately as victim (flying with a mouse is NOT optimal when learning). Flying with a stick now but confidence lacking for out and out mayhem. I want a ship around me that can afford a learning curve with damage taken before I start.I know I know, it's just one lousy kill but it felt soooooooooooooooo good
Decided to stop trading and head to Freeport and hang out with the Asteroids fora while, the kill instantly reminded me of why I loved the game in the 80's

At the moment I seem to be getting my ammo free. If you click the Reload all button in Station Services it doesn't take any money. If you go to Munitions and do it that way it does. It's a bug, obviously. I'm sure it will be spotted and fixed by the 22nd. Shame!

I know what you mean - just tried out combat properly a few hours ago, used an Eagle with three auto cannons to fight with.
Did ok - killed four cobra's with them made 4,000 credits.
A real shame the ammo cost me (in all) nearly 8,000 credits!
Can't see bounty hunting paying at present.

Ouch. Stick some burst lasers on the wing slots mate. They take shields down quick and a little hull damage while the auto-cannon chews. It's how I have my eagle set up.
Thanks for the advice - I'll give it a go, hows the energy drain on that set up? I'm using a point defence turret as well to try and stop me getting one shotted by a missile, but this leaves me with no power reserves at all!
Have to be honest - I like the Eagle so far, I've tried a Viper and Sidewinder for combat but the Eagle is coming out on top for me.
