We will know when they release the picture, and the chance something happens is basically zero. However I do believe our understanding will need a revision.

Well. There has been a few extinction events in the distant past..

We might have got lucky and nothing was close enough to be devoured by Sag A ~25k years ago :p

Now let's hope we get out of its sight before something falls in.. hehe

It would seem that today's generation will believe anything. Black Holes just like Worm Holes are nothing more than theory. But when one is getting funding for the sole purpose of locating and photographing a Black Hole, one is going to find a one. With the simplest of software today, one can photograph anything that is or isn't.

The data collected is in the petabyte range and has taken some years to process.

The 'first result' image is being published tomorrow (10th). I personally can't wait, this is somthing ive waited a long time to see.


The next 'waited a long time' is the launch of the James Webb space telescope... that bad boy is winding me up its taking so long.

It doesn't matter if it's a few meg's or a gazillion petabyte's. It's been proven that any digital photo graph can and has depending on the agenda of the individual(s) or organization(s) requesting or all ready receiving any governmental funding or grants be configured to show what ever said individual(s) or organization(s) agenda need to show. In so much as there's no one else that can prove otherwise. I don't doubt for a second that just like NASA, they will show something.

Today a great day ! We will see the black hole in the center of our galaxy.

Will the date of April 10 be a historical date ?

Although I read that the work was done two years ago already, and that the results only arrive today.

Using a standard dictionary "THEORY"
  1. The definition of a theory is an idea to explain something, or a set of guiding principles.

One will get you ten that the results will depict the same, but not exact, as what is generally accepted by the throng as to what a Black Hole is supposedly look like. One to ten the results of the photo, won't be much different than the depiction of them by SYFY enthusiast since their first conception. I mean, ask anyone older than 5 year's old, what a Black Hole or Worm Holes is and though they may get them turned around, they will be able to describe them.

But then, the majority of people believe we traversed the "Van Allen Radiation Belt" and the entire area between the moon in both directions at a time where as the radiation was at a peak; In a craft that had little to no ability to protect the occupants from radiation. Landed them on the moon in a craft with even less available protection and their subsequent return. Totally free from any radiation issues. When the Russian's lost 8 of their first nine cosmonauts to radiation overexpose, during their attempt to go to high.

There are several generations of humans now that have grown up with news papers, radio and television, and as we all know, if one reads it in print, hears it on the live radio or watches it on live television. It has to be true or they wouldn't and or couldn't have printed, stated or shown it; Right?
