First time combat in an Anaconda - hilarious!

I bought this Anaconda when it was on sale for 117M a while ago, and I've only used it for trade - I've never been in a position where I had to shoot at anything. An NPC Vulture interdicted me a few minutes ago and I though, fine, why not, and submitted.

Not thinking seriously about using it for combat, I'd just shoved a bunch of turreted pulses in most of the available slots and set them to "fire at will". I'd never used turrets before, either.

This is old news to a lot of you, obviously - but as someone who has only ever gone as far as small ships for combat back when RES had the money, I didn't realize how incredibly funny it is to drop out of supercruise and just float around while your ship happily decimates a pirate and your shields never really seem to notice that they're being attacked.

Must be a giggle having a properly combat loaded Anaconda!

You must have a low combat rank or the npc was low rank, at higher ranks good luck when you get 1 Dangerous ranked and above Python/Anaconda with 2 again Dangerous and above Vultures in a wing all firing at you.

I have a fairly good combat loadout RES hunter Python and I will have to use shield cells verses Clippers and above in 1 on 1 depending on there loadout. NPC's now have bite especially when you ignore them and are due to get harder.

Note never fire at will for turrets always target mode, as its easy to get fines/wanted that way, as they try to hit the last ship that shot you, even if its friendly fire from a NPC trying to shoot through you at the pirate.

Interesting. I don't seem to have any trouble taking out NPC Pythons and so on of any rank in my Courier. Never owned a shield cell. *shrug* I'm sure I'd suck at PvP.

This one may have well been a low rank though, I wasn't paying attention - I just found it amusing that the ship took care of everything for me!
