First Week In Elite, Experience and Questions :)

Hey everybody,

well its not exactly a week, just six days, I already regret not funding the game since I am having a blast ;)
Never played original elite, but remember being kid and being damn jealous at a nighbour kid who had c64 and showed me the possibilities of the game back then in the 90s, but played freelancer and x1, so its been a while since I touched a space sim.
I started making some missions and got an adder quite fast, then I checked the online data for rare goods and planned a route and after 2h i had my cobra. Having a lot of fun collecting all that stuff around the galaxy and jumping few hundreds of light years to sell em. Atm I have a A4 frameshift drive in it, they jump distance is aroudn 25ly and it can carry 60tons of cargo I am making around 2m in a 1.5h, so the money flow is ok i guess. Or not?
Atm I am not quite sure how to proceed, I could go for full trade and get a type 7 in few days and plan some route with normal goods.. but will it make a difference moneywise? How much will i make with a a t7? Or i could for a t9 or go straight for the python ofc, but i can imagine that the grind could get boring. On the other hand I could get a viper fit it out go to a combat zone to get some experience..

Really not sure how to proceed. ANY tips are appriciated, if u have an advice on trading, or rare goods trading, on making money other way and so on :)

Thx for reading and have some awesome holidays!

Heh - the nice thing about elite is that the freedom to do what you want dude ;)

My current plan is to have a decent cargo ship running a short trade run for when I need some fast cash, and then park combat ships around the galaxy wherever takes my interest ;)

Currently i have a lakon 6 running a route that takes about 10 mins and nets me about 160K - a fairly meaty cobra parked near an anarchy system for bounty hunting and piracy. Next project will be a viper parked up near a combat zone. After that - maybe a trip down to the Empire to work my way into an Imp clipper. Might hold off on that though and see if the Alliance gets a groovy ship in the new year.

I dunno man - I really wanna check out what's happening in Lugh also - so much to do - so little time!
