Ship Builds & Load Outs Fitting tool showing Lateral and vertical thrust figures?

Hi all,

Are there any fitting tools for ED that show each ships Lateral and Vertical thruster values?

Both ED Shipyard and Coriolis show the turning rates along the there axis etc but none show how good the maneuvering thrusters are.

eg The viper IV jumps all over the Cobra III when using Lateral and vertical thrusters but I can't find the figures anywhere for them.

I juts like to be able to compare the different ships out of game thats all

It'd be a difficult one to quantify as the total potential velocity is shared between forward speed and the lateral/vertical thrusters so it'll depend on throttle setting I reckon.

Hmmm but you can feel a definite difference in some ships when using FA-off and the lateral/vertical thruster effects become more pronounced.

Which is why I haven't linked them in my mind with the throttle (haven't used that thing in ages!)

Well you could do some tests, simply time how long a ship takes to reach 100 m/s then 100/t = acceleration in that axis, if you want thrust (Force) then use F =m x a using the current ship mass and the acceleration figure from the test the acceleration figure would give you an easy comparison between ships.

Did a few quick tests with a DBE ( https://coriolis.edcd.io/outfit/dia...weloBhBmcBYQFMCGBzANokICMF9A===&bn=DBE (EDMC)) with FA on 0 - 100 m/s 6 seconds, FA off was the same, for 0 - 200 m/s it was 9 seconds so it doen't appear to be linear (things never are straightforward with FD ;)), timings are near enough identical for both vertical and lateral axis.

Yeah this is what I was leading myself to do. I've also half built my own ship fit comparison tool in excel (it's obvious I'm way to much of an engineer at times!)
