Fix for stutters when exiting supercruise at a station

In my Rift, I was experiencing stuttering when exiting supercruise at stations, but not any more.

Upgraded my internet to Fiber and the stuttering has all but stopped.

As with all things, ymmv, but I thought I would post it as a possible solution to consider.

very intersesting. I always suspected some of the stuttering in ED was due to netcode and this would confirm this. Do you get stuttering still when entering hyperspace jump(to other systems)?

I found it odd I didn't get any stuttering at all when disengaging on stations.
Then again I have also been on FIOS for nearly a decade.

Other cases though.
Net code in this game is definitely the greatest bottleneck. And even in solo the game pulls data on system and station loading.

There was a stutter when entering hyperspace but again, this has diminished significantly. Game seems a bit smoother overall.

Would be interested if others also experience stutter improvement when going to higher bandwidth internet? If so, me thinks I will up my present 10Mb/s to something much higher too.

Don't think it would be bandwidth as much as it is latency.

I get about 1ms to my capital, 35ms or so to London, and 110ms to US based servers.

The ISP can't honestly give you any less latency by upgrading you, well really shouldn't, but I have heard weirder things.

Anyhoo, I woulnd't really consider this a 'fix' since for most would involve relocating their entire life just to get to a place that delivers FIOS.

The upgrade to fiber has dropped my latency from around 38ms to 13ms, so perhaps that is it, rather than the bandwidth (11mb increased to 38mb).

I agree "fix" isn't quite the right word, but I thought the improvement I had seen would be of interest.

elite dangerous server overload?

Checking my general ping (i'm on a 16mbit, effectively 10.5 mbit dsl line), i'm getting 27ms to google and anywhere else but constantly receiving timeouts at frontier.co.uk and elitedangerous.net. While the actual game server adress should be different, ED is probably experiencing server problems. I also find my self smiling over repeated game stuttering like announcement "fra...ameship drive" or asteroids changing rotational direction briefly (while i'm mining). Something needs to be done about this matter. Probably.
