Fix Scout Ships or add True Scout Ships

Greetings,

I would like to see scouts ships be a better scouting option than exploration ships. By this mean they should have a higher jump option, with limited modules and hard points.

Current scout ships should be classified more as skimirshers, because that is what they are really used for.

I envision scouts ships to be similar to the hauler, in that they have high jump range but limited capability for anything else. With the "high end" scout ship having a huge jump distance, with a few level 1 module slots a dedicated 6 or 7 fuel scoop slot. The envisioned module slots should allow for competent scanning and srv or shield option.

In other words make it limited in what it could take for scouting or self-repairs. Utility slots would be enough to fit all current sensors.

Anyways, I hope you take this into consideration when making the next ship.
 
I mostly agree, but I believe that a Scout should be armed.

Inverting the jump range on the Scouts and Explorers would be about right in my opinion, but you would also need a more robust exploration venue to justify the switch so that Explorers could do things to make them desirable vice Scouts.

Scouts to go out and find things, Explorers to... well, explore.
