Fixed Camera points when docked in station - alternative views of your ship

An idea I had last night when docked on the landing pad was to have the ability to view my ship at different angles from around the docking station / pad.

I was thinking how cool it would be to view the ship from one of the walk / gangways up in the dodecahedron stations.

Just an idea...

I agree whole heatedly, maybe a Cam from the Comms Tower, or Control Room or Observation post / catwalk would be very nice.

Just before Christmas I was reminiscing with a mate on Teamspeak about alternative camera views when docked at a station hangar. Wouldn't it be great if you could view your ship from a viewing platform or camera drone overlooking the landing pad? It would bring more immersion to the docking experience instead of being tied to your cockpit the during that time. We know the in game assets are already hi res enough, it just means changing the camera view to another fixed viewpoint. Elite 2 - Frontier on the Amiga had a hotkey you could press to see an alternative view of your ship as if viewed from the control tower.

I remember recon missions from Elite 2 requiring you to take pictures of a site with a camera that you can keep when you complete the mission. Perhaps a corporation mission requires you to carry out surveillance and carry that data to another system.
