Fixed permanent scanner colours?

Would you like EF to seperate the colours for the scanner from the rest of the HUD?

Hi guys, way back in 2.1 beta, FD had to separate the colour matrix for the avatar portraits from the hud colours because people running alternative hud colour shemes (such as those available through the NO2O thread or creating their own using http://arkku.com/elite/hud_editor/) ended up with weird coloured avatars with results like mission giver's having blue or green skin and purple hair... So they sorted that out and seperated that element of the hud from the colour matrix, this got me wondering, how many people would love to see an option in graphics settings to "use standard scanner colours" so we can run any colour scheme we want without ending up with screwy or counter-intuitive scanner friend/foe colours?

Not quite correct, the NPC portraits are pre-mangled with the inverse of the user transform, that's why you need to be careful with your colour scheme so portraits don't get screwed.

Persisting scanner colours sounds like a good idea, but I wouldn't expect it to be optional if Frontier decided to do it.

I find the orange lettering on the HUD, especially when in the SRV on 'beige' landscapes hard to read which is a pain when trying to drive to co-ordinates. I have temporarily changed those colours to help mitigate this, but changed back as the effect on the radar is just confusing. Your suggestion would address that, or have 2 switchable colour schemes.
This is the only thing that i think FD have dropped the ball on. HUD design good but visibility at times bad.

I would definitely love to be able to alter my HUD colors independently - optimally in game, for each ship separately and without touching the general friend/foe color coding on the radar.

Unfortunately, the HUD colors seem to be heavily integrated into the UI design and untangling them will be lots of work and a real PITA. I don't see FDev approaching this any time soon - if at all.
