Fixed weapon training

Having found using fixed weapons pretty much impossible with a gamepad I have always used gimballed. I finally decided to buy a cheap Thrustmaster joystick the other month and after getting used to it I went and brought an Imp Eagle fitted with 2 small burst and a medium rail gun all fixed. After a little scouting around I found a CZ a couple of jumps from my Imp home base and dropped in (this is also the first time for this except when I blundered into one without a clue of what I was doing and quickly left).
Its going to need a few more sessions to get used to and to be able to snipe systems accurately but now I am a total convert and have found a new thing to do. 12 minutes fighting an Imp cutter and then only managed to finish him off with a little help, in my defense I had already ran out of rail gun ammo when I engaged it so I only had small bursts to go at him. I'm sure I saw him smirking at me at one point.

Anyway, now where did I park my FAS....

I have a gamepad for ED cos I sit on the floor in front of the TV. Lol
I find fine aiming impossible so I use gimballed even on my FDL , FA-off is pretty hard too. However, I also have a huge PA fitted. I'm getting quite a good shot with it. One day I will have a desk again when I don't live in a shoebox apartment. Lol

Now if only there was a huge railgun.......

Took a Vulture out for the first time today. I can see why they need to limit the power because that thing would be unbeatable with a bigger PP. Fixed weapons, no problem, it is so manoeuvrable nothing can get out of the sights.
Originally I fitted a Beam and a PA but at the last moment swapped them for 2 burst. The power management was no problem but the power distribution is shockingly bad, 3-4 shots and that sucker was empty which hindered the kill speed quite a lot.

i can understand why people love it though
