Ships Fixed weapons on Mamba (pve)

I'm setting up a Mamba, and I love using fixed weapons. They are not always/often not the most effective, but they are damn fun [up].

I don't necessarily want fixed weapons on all hardpoints, cause it's possible that it would be too irritating/difficult to deal with small agile fighters.

I have thougt about this:
A: 2 x large Plasma Accelerators, long range - 1 x huge Multi-Cannon, overcharged, auto loader - 2 x small Multi-Cannons, overcharged, one with corrosive and the other with emissive. I am debating with myself whether I should go for fixed Multi-Cannons or gimballed. If I go all fixed there's no reason to use the emissive effect of course.

B: 1 x huge Plasma Accelerator, long range or efficient - fixed overcharged Multi-Cannons on all other hardpoints with one corrosive.


What have you tried, and what are your thougths? I am open to all suggestions.

after toying with mamba a bit i found 3 PA to be horrible build, workable fixed options include c4 PA and/or small rials. Mamba is more or less clipper with good shields when it comes to hardpoints convergence, its a bit better, but not good enough. Alternatives are asymmetric weapons loadouts.

Thanks! Some Void Opals got me away from the build, but I’ll soon finish it :) .

I found that using fixed weapons in the huge and 2x small hardpoints (currently using fixed beams in them) is reasonably viable. The large hardpoints are too far apart against anything but big ships, though, so I use gimballed MCs or frags in them.

What you can try, though is to use long range hitscan-weapons in all 5 hardpoints and try to stay several km away from your target, which the Mamba easily has the necessary speed for... the micro gimball effect of the fixed weapons is sufficient to converge all weapons at long ranges.
 
I find a mix of gimbal and fixed to be effective in an asymmetrical setup. I use gimbal burst lasers in L & Sm HP on one side, a sm rail and L PA on the other, and a huge gimbal MC. It's been a pretty good all rounder for pve, and also won me a few pvp encounters in the recent CG.
 
I tried 3 fixed pulse lasers (Huge + 2 small) and it didn't work well, since the combination of high speed and low turn rates makes it difficult to stay on target for a long time.

Then I switched to 1 fixed huge cannon and 4 gimballed beam lasers (efficient) and that works much better. The speed makes it easy to get into effective range and high damage, high distributor draw weapons work fine.

I suspect frag cannons would work well too (not fixed though).
 
I've had a bit of trouble with fixed given the pitch and yaw rate for turn fighting. Maybe with a burst build PAs and frags?
