Hardware & Technical Fixing a 16000m - Problem with twist

My 16000m, new last june, has the common throttle trigger problem.

After disassembly, the button is just a micro push button switch (the same as used on EDTracker BTW).

So I desoldered it and replaced it, and that works fine...

But after reassembly the twist is just not working - it does not do full range, just one sided (-ve to 0, very little +ve). Twisting it manually outside shows the POT isself is fine. Its just when its placed into the handle it does not turn +ve. I'm wondering if I'm missing something how its mounted in the handle.

I've taken it apart many times and it all looks good, in the right place, wedged against two parts of plastic extrusion when the two halves of the handle is put together.

Is there a trick in how its mounted? Had anyone else successfully fixed the throttle and the twist still works?

I've ordered a new 16000m (with the CH Pro throttle its a great combo) since its only 31 quid, but it would have been nice to have saved this one.

Cheers

I did the same fix and my twist still works. I would suggest disassembling again and testing the twist while plugged in, and with the pot in place, so you can see exactly where it needs to be. It was a bit tricky getting the pot seated correctly when reassembling, iirc.

Thanks for the reply. I put it together about three times in all and never got it to work properly.

So, I went and bought another one, just to make sure I had a working joystick.

The new one's twist - and its very one sided as well!

So, I'm thinking its a calibration issue coupled with the thrustmaster script I was using.

For the new one, I'm finding you have to calibrate the stick both in its normal mode of operation (no script - shows up in USB controllers as T16000m) and when the script is running (shows up as Thrustmaster warthog). This is what I had to do with the new stick to make it work.

I'll go back later in the week when I have more time and check.

That's weird, though I don't use the TARGET scripting at all so maybe that's it. Odd that it shows as a Warthog though!

I just recently purchased the T16000m. I am getting an uncontrolled roll. I am almost certain that it is configuration, as when I use the configuration option in Windows it is initially full right twist. However, in the testing tab it shows correctly, with Z rotation in the center initially. Right movement increases the bar, and left decreases as it should. Like I said, not the case when in configuration though.

I have an additional issue with what seems to be that it is conflicting with mouse inputs. I have a jittery mouse cursor in games. Just in games, it works fine in other applications. Thus it has something to do with various game input devices.

Maybe try the stick on its own without any other USB devices plugged in, or at least not plugged in to that USB controller.
