Flashlight in maverick suit doesnt work

The icon appears as if it were on, but no light.
The dominator suit works fine, when i press the flashlight toggle the flashlight appears in the upper corner and lights the area in front of me in game.
No flashlight in the maverick suit tho. Anybody else getting this?

Same over here. Pretty much cannot play any mission because of this. really unfortunate. Was quite looking forward to the release of the DLC but it's so buggy that's it's just a constant nuisance

Same issue here. Purchased a maverick suit, started an abandoned facility mission, everything was dark and the flashligt not working just ruined the mission. I tried adjusting video, and graphics settings, but it was useless.

I remember this happening randomly in alpha.

But never from the start, there were just areas in settlement where light was disappearing.

I took a few steps back - light works again, a few steps forward - no light.

Typical X-Files case ;)

I just solved it. This is not a bug. Go visit a weapon/suit upgrade shop, select suit upgrade, and then check your maverick suitp´s current state. My suit had not the flashlight on the shoulder, i changed my helmet and my torso for another piece and that´s it. Make sure the gadget on your shoulder is shown, (not sure which one is the flashlight on.)

Yeah as ridiculous a design decision as that is, thats the way they made it :) Thanks.

I solved mine too. I attached a Dominator Teal skin to the Maverick suit, and got my flashlight working again.
Felt a bit daft after missing such an obvious detail...

🤦‍♂️

This is ridiculous. It shouldn't work that way. Absolutely bad design in every sense.
Got the same problem, now will try to "fix" it with the method above.
But.... uh... I have no words...

I can confirm the same - it works for me - but I can totally believe it's not working for some.

This is the nature of a Beta release, FDev need detailed feedback to understand why some people have a specific issue and some don't.

Oh wait, it's apparently not a 'Beta' it's a full release! We all should complain loudly and frequently about ALL the issues, bugs, design flaws, cope outs and other failings that are plain to see in this DLC ( Disastrously Laughable Cr.. )

I don't care what FDev call it, they were honest and upfornt about this 'Beta' release the negative feedback would be a LOT more tempered.

Have same bug and changed helmet back to maverick. Did not work for me...

It's something to do with how the game is handling light and shadow.. when it detects you are near a significant mass that could get in the way of light or block light from any angle (sems to be most pronounced from above - i need to properly test this) the game darkens your screen artificially. So entering under an arch, everything darkens, laughably going under a coronal ejection does the same thing in a ship, yes.. that's right, a mass ejection from a star will produce a shadow on the star side of that that darkens your cockpit! I'm just going to guess here that they have a completely new lighting system that takes away light from your commanders view based on how many physical assets are blocking potential light refrlection.
Could explain why everything is so freakin dark all the time!

It's like all settings/features of graphic engine are tuned for one single purpose only: to make screenshots from atmospheric worlds look great ;)
This is more or lese eye-light-adaptation emulation and it's subtle impact is noticeable when you are transitioning between shadowed and direct light areas on planets or even move your camera in free camera mode.
I must admit it is doing a good work there, but it also seems like a lot of graphic quality in other activities/circumstances was sacrificed to achieve that.

I had the same problem with a Dominator suit - dropped into a nighttime CZ and bloody thing wouldn't work at all lol Maybe I forgot to replace the batteries

I've not personally suffered from the flashlight problem but I had wondered whether it was something to do with different suit configurations, so it's nice to see it confirmed here.

But I really came for this...

Oh mate, you have no idea how much that's made me smile. I tend to scrape stars very closely when I'm exploring in the Anaconda (the 7A scoop means I'm not there for long) and I've been seeing these intermittent "darkenings" since alpha. But because they were so quick -- almost a flicker in some cases -- and I didn't see any reports of anyone else mentioning them, I figured they were probably an edge case with my setup, or possibly even my aging eyeballs, and I didn't bother reporting them.

But it was still bugging me that I couldn't figure out what might be causing them. Your explanation makes perfect sense. The irony is that on a few occasions I have deliberately aimed to fly beneath a particularly large prominence but have not noticed the "shadow" effect, probably because I was concentrating on the ejecta itself. But I'll be confirming it on my next trip.
