Not being able to place the entrance or exit around all parts of the flat ride area is really difficult, there are cases when I don't want the entrance and exit to be on the same side of the ride as each other. For example, Upswing should have the option for guests to enter out the back.

Yes.. +1! Not only the flatrides. All stations have the same, weird behaviour.
In Planco you could snap the entrance/exits at points, so that they line up with the scenery pieces of 4 meter (in the most part).
Now, it is really annoying and not exactly enough to make it look good or line up with the scenery building pieces.
I'll wait and hope, that this will be fixed in the first update. It was working fine and should be working fine, again
