I'm not a very good pilot, so I usually rely on gimbals. They're good and dandy, but can be easily defeated by chaff. So I considered using the flechettes to kill any chaff launchers the opponents might have. Keep in mind this is for PvE only. Do any of you also do this? Have you had any success? Cuz I haven't. When targeting subsystems, the flechettes don't make the ticking noise to assist you, so you can't detonate them at the right time. Also, sometimes the reticule flashes three red triangles, what does that mean? It also happens with the flak launchers used to disperse thargon swarms

nope, but they deploy drones that can only be dealt with by flak launchers. note flak and flechette launchers are different weapons for different uses, but they both share the hold and release shooting mechanic.
