Fleet carrier APP

i would suggest: frontier developing an Fleet carrier app for Smartphones, where you can do all the options like managing your commodities market, and jumping your fleet carrier.

this is just a suggestion, but i would love if we had one. now let the voting and discussions beginn. :)

Several commanders have already suggested the same thing, see:
So your idea is supported by several commanders.

I believe jumping your carrier (as in plotting route and jumping) is a big ask as the app would need the galaxy map for route plotting. You might get away with a dropdown, but then how would you know where to jump to.

oooh ok dind´t know that there are already a few threads talking about it. sorry for that :)
it should not be a problem to make the galaxy map on modern devices, and im no software developer so i have no idea how to make it. otherwise i would make it and then offer frontier to use it. :) it just came into my mind. and i thought "its a genious idea you should make a post of it" :) and now we are here. and as mentioned before i had no idea there are already discussions/threads about it. so for the sake of a clean forum if a moderator sees the post you can close it i will watch the other threads., and @wabboo thx for the links :)

I support this. (y)

You can use Gforce Now to connect to your game from your smartphone, then jump your carrier. Works for me at least. I wouldn't suggest launching a ship though, it's tedious to handle.

Wouldn't we rather be in game properly
To play the ship board portion of the game, yes, certainly. However, to handle mundane FC tasks, like jumping, or configuring the FC's market demand, and buy/sell prices, a phone/tablet App is more than enough. Might even be superior in some ways. The FC portion of the game is a management sim. Those work fine on phones/tablets. One could even argue that a PC/console is gross overkill for it.

I'd also argue that things like squad management and powerplay information could be part of the app. I'd combine all these things into a responsive website, where you can view/manage these things out of game. Then again, would you want FDev to spend time on building that or that they focus on expanding the game? In development land everything is about prioritizing what you do.
