Fleet Carrier defending against a Thargoid.


All credit to Cmdr Epaphus for pulling this one off, this is just straight up awesome, and answers the question of "What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?" I honestly would love to see some kind of combat game play for fleet carriers (opt-in of course)

I made a post a while back about putting the carrier at "Battle Stations" and using a "Tactical Jump" to send it into a combat zone as a force multiplier (the same way real carriers are used.), there would be a damage model and various damage modes the carrier would experience depending on how much of a pounding it took, and the required repair materials to get it back to 100%. But the carrier wouldn't ever be destroyed, much like how the NPC capital ships jump out when they reach critical hull, the most your fleet carrier could be is just a fully wrecked mess, but always repairable, albeit with a huge repair bill.
