Fleet Carrier Issue

I'm making a journey out to the edge of the galaxy. I've been making continuous jumps today (I've done about 6 or 7 in a row now). Two jumps earlier, with 400 tons of tritium in the tank, reporting a jump range of 500 LY, the route plotter claimed a system around 360 ly away was "out of range". I topped the tank off to 1000 tons of tritium and then it was willing to jump to 498 ly. The jump after that, it claimed that 495 was out of range, then the jump after that it told me 489 was out of range. Now it claims that 460 is out of range and it still has 600+ tons of fuel, reporting a max range of 500 ly and it's only using about 50 to 60 tons per jump.

So I'm wondering; is the carrier experiencing cumulative wear and tear due to the string of jumps which is degrading it's jump engine? Or is this some kind of bug?

sounds like a bug. i can make consecutive jumps immediately when able right to the 500ly cutoff and I'm no where near at full trit depot.

Are you on board? The distance shown while plotting the jump is as per your location, not the carrier's (which is very misleading and annoying).
After writing this post, I went back in (hoping that relogging fixed the issue). The carrier was refusing to jump even 200 ly. In frustration I headed back to it. On the way, I wondered if it was a problem with doing it remotely. Lo' and behold, once back to the FC, I could plot a jump. So you're absolutely correct! It is very misleading and annoying! When I'm plotting a jump for the carrier, it should use the carrier's location, not mine.

From memory I think it does in Horizons, just not in Odyssey.

100% agreed. It got me countless of times already. Very frustrating.

Have you checked the actual fuel usage after the jumps? I wasn't sure from your post if you were checking what if used from the total you have in the tank and storage, to see if the numbers are tallying.

If it's using more than you think, then contact support and link this thread too, just so they can give you what you're owed.
