Fleet Carrier map consolidation

When in systems that are popular, such as engineers and popular landing spots, there is an excess of fleet carriers. These make the map and the targeting area cluttered and it can get annoying. There are bound to be many schools of thought on it, but having at least an option to choose to see these on the map would be nice.
If the mass of carriers could be consolidated into a single icon in-system, that would make me much happier.

Personally I would like if there was a limit to the number of carriers in a system, but in lieu of that, a way to hide them from the interface. Perhaps an ability to ignore them on your map like you can ignore materials. For those who have their own carrier, I would expect that one would always be visible.
 
An expandable icon would be my preference... if there are one or more carriers at a star or planet/moon, make it one icon that can be selected to expand.

But the other thing I would like to see is a smaller carrier variant with 1/4 of the capacity, medium pads only, much more efficient at tritium fuel, 1/4 the cost and upkeep, more geared to exploration and frequently moving about generally, and this type would not appear in the system maps, but could still be visible/listed in the left nav panel (if the owner had set it to public landable). The design could be sleeker (think like a Gutamaya design) and open up more ARX customisation revenue targets.

I think a huge number of current carrier owners would migrate to those (which would largely solve the current map clutter). Most people don't need a behemoth fleet carrier - but they are the only variant we have, so big white elephant it is then.
 
You can already filter carriers out of the nav panel, but sadly the filter also hides yours if you have one. It would be nice to have the option to "hide all carriers except yours" in the filter.

There is a limit, it can be quite large depending on what's already in the system, the number of bodies available to park next to etc, but there is an absolute limit to the number of objects in a system and that includes Fleet Carriers.

I tried to get my new FC (got this week due to no CG boredom) to my favorite DOUBLE plat hotspot in Col 285 sector KM-V D2-106 and couldn't even jump there.
So I went to my other HS in Harma 7 and there actually doesn't seem to be much difference in laser mining plat on a SINGLE plat hotspot - filled up with 256T in 1 hour at both places!!! - Whaaaaaat???? (no longer any need for double HS!!!???)

In my opinion there should be a limit to how long a FC can be parked up in any given system. Probably impossible to implement though sadly. Oh and the removal of defunct carriers as well…..
 
I really have never come across this issue. outside the system map I never even realize there are FCs in the system, and even in a maxed system map they don't exactly get in the way and are easily ignored for the 20s you're looking at it
