Fleet Carrier resupply

When FC go live there are initiatives to put in place remote resupply & repair stations (one example is DSSA) . One problem with this is that the only way to resupply modules and ships to FC is by returning to the Bubble / Colonia - as this required carrier services.

Suggestion is : Allow ordinary ships to carry stocks of modules / other ships. This would allow resupply / support mechanics which would be fun for groups of players.Or else allow FC to transfer supplies between each other. Either would be fun for those of us who enjoy logistics problems.

What happens when you sell a module at a Carrier shipyard? Is it added to the carrier stock? Do you get an E-rated core module in return regardless of carrier stock?

If the answer to these questions is yes, you could stockpile modules in module storage in the Bubble, fly your ship to a distant carrier, transfer out 120 modules, equip them and sell them to the station.

Even if it works though, which I doubt (I might have an experiment selling modules on my carrier this afternoon) it would be devilish expensive.

Or allow inter-carrier trade/cargo transfer. Few resupply carriers flying around would keep dssa ones full.

Or both- ships an carrier being able to carry and transfer modules.

Tried it, when you sell an optional module it's gone, it doesn't go into stock. I have no core modules in stock, so they show in Outfitting as "No stock" so I'm not allowed to sell them, so I can't see if I'm offered a non-existent E module in exchange.

Not surprised you can't sell modules into carrier stock. Even if the thought had occurred to Frontier, it would have required additional programming, and Frontier have a New Era to get out on time (if they - and we - are lucky).

May have to do an FC swap now and again, keeping one on-station while the other returns for re-supply and shore leave.

Yeah, then the problem becomes fuel - it's now easy enough to get anywhere with a hold full of Tritium, but getting back without a load of mining would be painful. Or the alternative is to decommission, but since that seems to end in a loss of 80+% for remote decommissions you basically end up rebuilding from nothing. At the moment I think most won't bother, or won't restock. After all the 'fun' is the initial placement - having to do it every 3 months because you're out of PVH may be less fun. Just suggesting an option :)
