Maybe FDev should introduce a Mega Carrier, that you can own and into which you could dock your fleet carrier. It could jump 1200 LYs with a 30 minute jump timer and cost 10 billion. And then they could introduce super turbo carrier....
I would prefer smaller carrier, or ability to modify midsection (maybe through livery...) to slightly change the way how carrier works.
For me having more than one large landing pad is pointless. Longer jump distance is ok but I'm rarely moving carrier for more than 500ly at the time- usually it stays in desolate system for weeks.
I've seen some news about colonization so I hope that would involve some changes to carriers too. I'm even tempted to start working on raising money reserves too just in case.
If there are hardware limitations to carriers due to how game works now (I assume it is somehow related to fleet carrier being treated as part of permanent system objects- just like stations), I would think of the way to change this even if that means carrier would be accessible only if I am online and in the same space and game mode (example is what happens to ship when player goes too far from it in SRV).
