Ships [Fleet Carrier] : Services upkeep costs granularity ?

Hi CMDRs,

As new owner of a Fleet Carrier, I could not find yet an answer to the title question.

Let's say that in a week I activate a service once for about 10 minutes, how will it be considered regarding upkeep costs of the service ?
For this few minutes only of activity in the week, will the upkeep be lowered from a full week of activity (I guess yes) and then in which proportion ?
Hourly ratio ? Daily ratio ? Other ?

I will see that anyway by next thursday, but not sure of the bill information details, so, in case you would have the answer...

Cheers,
O7,
SparcT1.

Thanks @Darth Ender !
It's not really an issue as my carrier bank is comfortably provisioned and upkeep fee has been earned in few hours this week, but it would have been cool to spare some credits.

@GroG79 : In fact it's more about how can I pay only for what I use.
There is ever a weekly fee for having the service on-board, even if not used, that is logical. It simply increase (x2) when service is active. It's why I had this initial question.
But well... let's avoid a Troll here, as this was not my intention.
I have had a clear answer, it's the only important thing for me.
;-)

you pay the active rate for the week if it's active at any point in that week.
I few months ago I fitted things like the bartender to see if they were useful, they weren't. After 24hrs I completely decommissioned them for a refund. When my weekly bill arrived it was the normal bill and had no mention of the extra services I'd installed for 24hrs, played with, then removed.

@Cmdr Snuffler : It's also another reason why I was asking this question as I read previously different opinions/experiences. Anyway I will see next thursday, and will let know on this thread.

removing them isn't the same as putting them on standby. probably should be but it isn't.

I've done the whole only had a module active for a fraction of a week. it charges the full week.

Hi,

I got my answer from facts (the Thursday bill).
Here it is, explained from my understanding, and shared for whoever it could help :

On whatever you may read, there is often a confusion between "suspending" and "disabling" a service.

  • From diisablement (definitive resell) of a service standpoint, it seems on-going week upkeep costs will not be charged, even if that service was enabled at a time in the week.
  • From enabling/suspending service standpoint, at the first time you will enable it in a week, it will be fully charged for the whole week. No matter if you suspend it for most of the week.

That is understandable, but was not totally clear from the begining. Now it is, and it's OK for me.
So, from my usage :
  • rearm/repair/vista_genomics will now remain constantly enabled as I am sure I will use them at least once a week.
  • universal_cartographic/refuel will be disabled by default, as I should only need to trade cartographic data about once two weeks, and refuel is just a safety to be used when in a deep non-scoopable environment.

This was exactly what I was needing to tune a bit my FC usage.
(I hate approximation, and love optimization)
