Fleet Carrier Ship Storage?

Greetings,

Searching the Forum/Internet for answers let's see if these numbers are correct.

A player owning a fleet carrier can store 40 personal ships. Verification from a
player would be great but owing 34 ships, moving them all to the carrier and
I could purchase another 7 Sidewinders going to 41 just to see. Knowing Elite
players someone has already tested this.

Adding a shipyard to sell ships does not impact the 40 personal ship slots.
Purchasing a shipyard will reduce the ship capacity by 3000 units from the
25,000 units available.

Q1. Is more capacity used when ships are purchased for later resale?

There are 16 landing pads per 8 large, 4 medium and 4 small.

Q2. Can more than 16 live payers land on a carrier after going to the dock?
Q3. Do the 40 personal ship slots effect live players landing on the carrier?
Q4. Do NPCs effect live players landing on the carrier?

If a fleet carrier uses the same rules as say an orbiting station then I probably
know the answers as in the lower dock doesn't make any difference still taking
up a pad. Players having fun using fleet carriers to transport live players in Open
or Group mode across the galaxy have figured out these answers.

Best Regards

There is a 40 ship limit. I could no longer transfer ships to my FC once I had 39 stored on it (40 with what I was in the cockpit of).

Shipyard capacity is not affected by ships you own and have stored on your FC.

I don't have any answers for the rest, sorry!

Thank you for the 40 ship verification.

1. Yes.
2. Yes, but not in the same instance.
3. No.
4. Yes.

Q2. Yes - Unlimited (maybe limited per instance - Getting more than 16 in an instance is the real challange)
Q3. No
Q4. No (Apart from the ones that are landed, but they leave pretty quickly)

Are you sure with Q2? I have doubts. Still how many can a fleet carrier owner dock live players then fly
them to say Colonia? Getting to the fleet carrier in Group or Open mode might have dangerous issues but
once docked fleet carriers cannot be destroyed... Unless the owner is an idiot not paying the bills or didn't
have the funds to fly a carrier.

A single FC could fly the entire player population out to Colonia in one go. The only limitation is that the pads/hangers in open or group instances would quickly fill, but everyone would be able to dock with the FC and hitch a ride out in solo.

And I mean every player, FCs aren't just cross mode persistent, they're cross platform too.

I was just part of a group that went up to the top of the galaxy via the D2EA NorthStar FC. FC's are mobile stations. So the same rules apply. 40 ship limit for owner, like any other base. Console, and PC Cmdr's can store their ships on the FC, since bases are cross platform. In open, the 16 limit is per instance. However if Open is full, just go to solo and you will get a landing pad on the same FC. Way more than 16 people went to the top of the galaxy in the D2EA FC, I'll guess 100-200, almost all were in solo from the chat messages I saw. And yes the same questions you posted OP came up during the livestream just prior to the FC trip.

Thanks for the info going solo with hundreds of ships. What happens if they go Open mode in the black to take a quick look?

They will be put in an instance that they can fit into.

Not sure what situation you are worried about/hoping to create, but it ain't gonna happen. Instancing deals with it.

Oooh, wasn't aware of that 40 ship limit. Currently have 36.
Thank you for the 40 ship verification.
That info is in the game:

I have not tried it. But yes I have been told the 40 ship limit is per base. The 120 module limit is per Cmdr account, I hope not to hit that limit anytime soon, so I have not tested it.

And for this question:

Make sure you get back to the carrier and re dock prior to the next FC jump, or you might get stuck a long way from home! I believe one or two people found this out as well.

i also have a query regarding fleet carrier storage, was trying to work out travel efficiency with what's in my storage and found that, the FC says it is holding 12,459 tonnes of storage but, when i count everything i have in storage (i do not have any ships or modules for sale) it comes to 11,876.. i have spent quite long looking at everything (sell orders etc) but i cannot account for the difference from what i actually have in storage with what the FC says i have..

Does anyone else have this problem or know what causes it?

It's 40 ships per base? So I could have 80 ships if storing ships at two bases?

Yes, 2 accounts with a carrier on each can have both 40 ships.

But only 1 carrier per account, so 40 in a carrier and 40 in a base (but you could transfer credits to alt from first carrier to get 2nd carrier).
