fleet carrier suspend services.

What is the time unit for suspending fleet carrier services.
If I play for 1 hour and then suspend services, do I pay only 1/24 th of the full daily price?
In other words is it worthwhile suspending services before I log-off.

Its probably not that smart. Besides, don't you have to be in a Carrier Admin system to enable/disable services?

It should be on a timer. it would take time to mothball and restart a service. Otherwise the obvious play is disable everything and turn it on only for the moment you need it and then back off.

I confirmed services can be disabled/enabled outside of Carrier Admin systems. However I would expect the day to count toward upkeep if the service is on just once that day.

This is no more of an exploit than hiring/firing SLF pilots to avoid paying them while not using them. I don't really see a problem with it, it's not like those services can be used while disabled.

except there is a tangible benefit to not hiring and firing slf pilots since they are more effective at higher than hireable ranks. So a player doing that is making a compromise. There is no similar compromise in this scenario with carriers.

you should be charged for the full day if the service is active for any moment during that day to minimize this behavior. Really, I'd do it for the entire week. If you have a service active at all during that pay week, then you owe that week's worth of upkeep. No prorated amounts.

I've a 26 mill weekly bill. I've a few bill tucked away and a couple in the carriers bank. I play a few hours a night doing combat missions or cz's haz zones or wing up on massacres. But by the end of the week I've made alot more than 26 million.
And not a mining shovel in sight. I can go mining make a few 100 mill per session but like most I'm not a fan so mine when l have too.
So build up a few bill buffer then relax cos you'll earn the upkeep easily enough playing the game as it should be played.

It looks to me like if you have the service enabled at all in the week, you pay full price.
I disabled everything Tuesday. My upkeep cost hasnt changed. I expect to be charged 11mil Friday. I will leave everything off until next Friday and I plan to be charged about 7mil

Here's an interesting test. Disable all services right before the tick. Turn them on after.

If I find out that it does scale (I am not charged full price, but also am not charged the low low price of disabled) I will absolutely be playing with this.

An official clarification would be nice on how that actually works. Like, adding it to the manual of the fleet carrier section in the pilot's handbook ingame instead of just saying...

With costs of several millions one would expect an explanation how activating/deactivating services actually works, and how exactly the costs are calculated.

I like this better than a timer.
