Ships Fleet carrier tritium idea

My plan to work around the 1000 tons of tritium limit on the fleet carrier is this: When I plan on a long trip I will fill the holds of my other ships with tritium. I'll configure those other ships for maximum cargo. I'll then fly all of those other ships on board the carrier. Then when I use up my 1000 tons of tritium on the carrier I will donate tritium from my other ships I have on board to the carrier. Suggestions???

Unless you are using altCMDRs to dock on the Carrier laden with Tritium, it won't work - as we can't store ships with cargo in them.

I landed my Python on my carrier yesterday with 135 tons of tritium in the Python's hold and was able to donate the tritium to my own carrier.

Why don't you just fill the 20,000 tons (roughly - varies with loadout) of the carrier's hold with Tritium?

Is that possible because that would be much better than my idea?
Your idea is to fill all of your cargo ships with tritium? Let us know what happens when you try to switch to another ship while your current ship cargo is full.

That is really annoying when you have a few limpets in your hold when you try and swap to a ship with no cargo space and have to go back and ditch the limpets first.

I feel stupid I didn't think about that. thanks for the correction.
