Newcomer / Intro [ Fleet Carrier ] - Use cases : A collaborative feedback tutorial

Hi CMDRs,

Since I came back to Elite Dangerous about 1.5 year ago, this forum community helped me a lot !
So now, it's my turn to try doing the same for those, like me, that are needing some advice on the covered topic.

This thread intends to be a feedback tutorial, not about Fleet Carrier as such, but about use cases for Fleet Carrier, meaning how do we use it at best and as efficiently as possible for a given gameplay objective.
It also intends to be collaborative, so if you either disagree on some points, or want to complete/improve them, just post a reply.
On my side I will update this first post as necessary. What works for one of us may not work for all of us, with reciprocity. This is gameplay magic I guess ;-).

I will start by giving feedback of my first Fleet Carrier expedition.
Still on-going, it started 4 months ago and have currently covered 9+ K LY.
I am alone on this carrier, and believe me, it is a wonderful tool for my usage even without a squadron.
I have just created the 2 first sections on my Inara logbook (links to follow).
Current covered topics :

Next to come is about Fleet Carrier based Mining (not only for Trtium refill in the void) : Work in progress - it will follow the same principle - feedback about things I think I did right, things I did wrong and lessons I learned so far.
Far later on, I will start a Feedback about Trading from a Fleet Carrier, except if someone does it in the interval. I guess it could take few months before I could do so (too far in the void, and need to get experience first before giving a feedback).

I hope this will help, at least new FC owners or those that are not really sure of the value (or not) of an FC for their gameplay/objectives or in terms of sustainability.
And thanks again to all those CMDRs that helped me for more than one year, even before I joined this forum.
There are plenty of use cases for a Fleet Carrier I have no experience with. ( FC Squadron usage, opened expedition planning, Conflict engagement, Roleplay, + all those I did not even imagine).
So if you have created some material, on the principle of a "...what works for me, what Was done right or wrong, best practices, etc...) feel free to contribute.

Cheers,
O7,

SparcT1.
