Idea:
Reason:
Downside:
- If a fleet carrier is an a populated system and the carrier owner is allied with local factions, ambassadors of those factions become present on the fleet carrier as additional mission givers.
- If the carrier moves to another system, the ambassadors come-and go based on allied status.
- If a visitor cmdr takes on a mission and then the carrier goes away... too bad. Its gone. Msg pops up saying carrier moved, mission failed.
- Possibly the ambassador gives missions to visitor cmdrs only if they are at least friendly with the faction.
- Possibly the fleet carrier requires an additional module to enable this feature. A Fleet Carrier Ambassador Lounge.
- Possibly the ambassadors appear only after several days of being parked in the system.
Reason:
- Gives good reason to visit other cmdr carriers. Greater familiarity and fun with player created content. Players become familiar with other fleet carriers. Noticing them and using them for good purpose.
- Gives more reason for a cmdr to visit their own carrier when parked in a populated system.
- Makes a carrier seem more alive and integrated with the game around it.
- Gives additional missions a cmdr can stack.
Downside:
- This will encourage players to park in populated systems, filling them up. Ya this is bad. Dead beat do-nothing carriers could lose rep with local factions along with the carrier owner. Also fleet carriers untouched for +30 days could be auto bumped to nearby system. Maybe some other creative solutions based on activity could be thought of too.
- Some cmdrs will complain that their missions failed when a carrier moved. Oh well.
