I finally obtained my new fleet carrier without need to do too much grind at once. After a couple of weeks I see some things missing or done sub-optimal and would like to suggest following list of QOL improvements:
- show hyperspace drive cooldown timer (on carrier galaxy map and in concourse, in addition to carrier management screen) or better remove it completely (if needed keep time between jumps as-is 15 + 5 minutes).
- do not close galaxy map when route is plotted (especially when plotting is failed)
- show notifications when carrier management/route planning screen is open (similar to FSS)
- fix/avoid loading state when getting back from route plotting (map) back to management screen (between closing one and opening another panel sometimes it even shows first person view, despite that both are full-screen panels).
- add orbital (mouse, touch) controls to rotate/zoom carrier view on management screen and switch off auto-rotation when view set manually.
- if possible add some interactivity to carrier management screen, e.g. selecting a landing pad and showing contact info if there is a ship docked.
- add button to cancel jump to management screen (navigation panel) and to carrier captain lounge (big red button).
- add new filter to navigation panel to show all bookmarked objects (within radius of e.g. 20ly) to simply make carrier visible while filtering out other carriers (was requested many times on the forum).
- please add more nice-looking paint jobs (or adjust existing), current ones look too generic. Add presents at discounted price combining paint jobs, engine details and landing pads by colors.
- carrier captain seat could look more like a ship seat with virtual/projected panels: some sort of radar view of surrounding space, ability to select targets/contacts, manage cargo of your current ship etc.). It is just more convenient to sit in your ship while making multiple jumps than in FC captain seat.
- allow to target fleet carriers as short range Apex destination and call Apex shuttle from the carrier (in a way similar to calling from planet surface). To allow easier to move multiple ships to FC and travel without ships.
- in general when taking any seats (including FC captain one) allow to look around (to move camera a bit, similar as when using terminals) so that the animation of sitting and standing would not look so much pre-programmed (don't know how to describe it better).
