Flickering / Non-Highlighted Landing Pads Should Have Been Fixed Ages Ago!

Next time, try to request docking permission first.
That's not the issue. There is an issue with landing lights disappearing.
It's not a consistent bug, which could add to why it isn't fixed yet.
Have you ticketed it?
A workaround fix is to use your compass to find your pad. You should still be able to land.

This issue started somewhere in Gamma. It can be a problem in those big stations, where you are not allowed to deviate much. Pretty sure I got some fines out of it early on.

Oh I thought i was going crazy when I noticed this, but I thought it was something in the game (like my access was revoked or something). Never seen it dissappear directly though or flicker.

Each time it happened I ended up leaving the area and starting the docking all over again and it then appears.

It's worse than just not showing the number and lights in my experience. Sometimes they show and then disappear when you get close to them, this mainly happens on 'outside' landing pads and when it happens you cannot land. The guide indicators do not show up. Flying away and returning sometimes fixes it otherwise cancelling the docking and re-initiating it will help especially as you are normally given a different landing pad.

As a workaround you can follow the blue blip on the compass to your docking pad.

An aside - would you have preferred this minor graphical glitch to have been fixed instead of the widespread, random connection problems the game was experiencing just before launch? Both appeared over similar timescales. I think FD got their priorities right.

This one will be fixed in due course.

I've noticed this bug a couple of times now, and each time the dock itself is moving as if an npc/player has docked in the station. The landing guide disappears and the dock number disappears, but you can still dock and use the station services as normal if you can line up your landing correctly.

This is happening in solo too. I don't recall it ever happening in Gamma for me, but it is frequent now. When you're inside the station it can disappear and if you didn't already have a fix on the pad then you really have to exit and cancel docking and try again.

It happens in outposts as well as stations

I get this a lot too, but have figured out that looking away (flipping over 360) makes the pad lights reappear 99% of the time.

Yeah, this started up at the end of gamma. It really is a fairly (visually) ugly bug, so I'd certainly like to see it fixed.

Pro tip: When you're inside a station (assuming you've received permission to dock), your compass will point to your landing pad. Even if the lights go out, you can use this to tell where to land.

You can land on the pad regardless if you know which one it is.

Sometimes, they are not lit when you enter the station, I tend to rotate until it shows up.

It is worse now than it used to be, the flashing on and off is a bit of a ball ache.

Yes, it's a bug and it appears on all station types but I kinda find it a bit of fun as long as I know which physical location I'm aiming for. It's an extra little challenge trying to dock without the beeps and circles telling you when you've lined up correctly.

It was a bug that was introduced in a patch 4 or so changes ago. They seem to have placed there head in the sand on this one. Its a case of if you see it flash up with the number then you have to remember where it is since the number can dissapear at any moment. Its what microsoft would call a feature. Those that know microsoft know this is not a compliment. FIX IT.
