Flickering shadows in VR, will it ever be fixed?

The issue tracker is from over a year ago now, it's a pretty significant issue for VR in my opinion, are FD ever going to fix it? I've tried various different combinations of settings and the only one that works is to turn shadows off completely :(
 
Legacy works fine.
A little off-topic, but have Fdev said what their long-term plans for Legacy is? Ever since they split the player base I just can't bring myself to put more hours into Legacy, feels like Fdev can't wait to just pull the plug on it. (Instead I keep banging my head against the brick wall that is Odyssey in VR...)

I'm not so sure about this. Legacy also equals consoles, and Frontier would likely find themselves in a mess if they sell a bunch of copies of Legacy on PS4 & XBox in November, only to shut the whole thing down in January.

I think they would first remove Elite from the Playstation / XBox stores, then give current users an extra year, and then shut it down.

But one thing I am sure about is that no new features, content, or "love" will be coming to Legacy. Which is sad for a game that considers itself an MMO...

Stasis until the game is empty, I suppose.

Forget Oddity exists. Go play the best version of Elite ever made. It's Legacy.
 
I dream of the day when Elite has 20k-30k unique dailies so that we can get jaggies fixed with proper AA, DLSS implementation, and shadows that don’t flicker.

There is so much graphically and game mechanics wize that needs tuning. But to justify it fdev needs player number to be 3-5x higher. Senior programming resources don’t come cheap and they are in a real situation right now.

Heh, I keep repeating that I'd pay extra for on-foot VR, but even looking at singular issues on their own, I'd absolutely take part in sponsoring a rework of e.g. the isolated issue, that has been with the game since day one, of billboard sprites aligning strictly with screen space, without the world space alignment they should have. :p
