Proposal Discussion Flight assist as ship module?

I would love to see the flight assist system as an outfit option (installed on all ships by default, of course) that you can sell for a small weight advantage.

Removing it should not give any deciding advantage in combat, just adding some jump distance and maybe freeing up some system power would be enough. I would love the challenge to fly such a ship.

I know I could just turn flight assist off, but knowing you can't turn it on when things get hairy would add so much excitement to any fight (or even docking maneuver for that matter.)

Given you're in a fly by wire ship anyway...where exactly would Flight Assist physically be manifested?

It's just software...
