Flight Assist Module equipment suggestions:

I would like to see a "Flight Assist Module" which functions like a planetary vehicle hangar when equipped in the way that..:

Depending on the price/quality of the module, you get 1/2/3(+, if more flight assist capacities are added) nested sub-slots.

These nested slots can equip a docking module, launching module, hypercruise assist module, (interdiction assist module, jet cone assist module, planetary landing module, fuel scoop orbital assist etc.)

Alternatively, if this took up too much developmental adjustment, I would prefer to just spend (a lot) more credits to buy a singular, comprehensive, all in one module. You can keep the individual modules cheap so smaller ships can use two 1 slot flight assist modules for cheap.

I think you're missing the entire point of what the devs were doing when they put these new mods in the game.

But what the hell. +1 from me.

Maybe I am missing the point. Would you care to explain it to me? I know a lot of people argue that you don't NEED these modules, and many min-maxers would just use the new slots for more performance. Many other people argue that manually flying your ship is skillful and rewarding, I don't deny that. Just sometimes, I'd like to be autonomous, and sometimes, I'd like to get my hands dirty flying it myself. I just don't like filling my ship full of things that for all intent and purpose should be software, let alone slapping it into a size 2 or 3 slot because I don't have anything smaller.

Im not against the inclusion of such "convenience" functionality, I just disagree with the fact they should be full fledged modules and that it should have been added as just new functions of the ship.

I honestly don't know what possessed the devs to make them modules, the only thing I can fathom to guess is to introduce new players to how outfitting works and how it effects what your ship can and cant do based on what you have fitted. (Again, this is a total guess.)

I see what you're saying. It does feel like these things should be baseline on any ship, so why would we have to add them. On another hand though, I really like 'customizing my ship' to suit it's purpose, and I think this is the sort of mental trap which makes room for 'new physical content' which isn't new content at all, in a 'physical' sense.

Not sure if that makes sense. I get so excited to customize my ship, that it sort of scratches that itch, and makes people go OH LOOK SOMETHING NEW TO COME BACK AND PLAY WITH, which while the content is more akin to a performance update, they might not feel as rewarded for messing around with it if it was just a built in menu option.
