Flight Assist Off - Lack of Feedback

I noticed that the HUD seems to provide absolutely no feedback when flying in flight assist off mode.
Even with space dust it's very hard to tell where you are going and if you are rotating a little bit.

Is this intentional or are there plans to improve this?
At the moment it feels like artificial difficulty, kind of like removing the aiming reticle to make combat harder.

I suggested the below in the Common Suggestions thread and was wondering if anyone had comments.

- Velocity vector indicator (ala Frontier/First Encounters). Could change to blue when in the sweet turning zone.
- Velocity vector HUD lines (ala Independence War/I-War). Could change to blue when in the sweet turning zone.
- Pitch, yaw and roll ladders on the HUD. Could be similar in appearance to the ones in supercruise. Combined with improved velocity indicators it would make flying flight assist off more entertaining.

Back in Alpha and Early beta, the ship had hud lines. You can view them below.

Hud lines were also present at the first cockpit implementations/concept art.

FDEV decided to remove them since they thought they weren't giving the amount of feedback needed, while they also tended to clutter the hud UI.

I don't see a velocity vector indicator coming any time soon, but I would love to have a way to show more feedback about my vector. The space dust does the job, but barely.

Great suggestion. The hardest part about FA off for me is staying in the blue maneuvering zone. It doesn't help that using the mouse wheel to throttle while in FA off mode is awful.

That looks much better than the current HUD for FAoff. The extra stuff could be a toggle, so people who want uncluttered HUD can have it and people who want more info can get it.
