Hi Commanders,

I've got quite a collection (20 or so) of these Flight Operations Plans in my mailbox from all the megaships Ship Log antennas I've Data-Link Scanned.

I know the purpose of these messages is to show me where these ships will move to next, and as I understand it, they move about every 3 weeks. But that is the extent of my knowledge on the subject. Here are my questions:

1. I assume I just have to know (magically) when the 3 weeks is up for each ship and they move to the next system on the list. Is there any way (other than flying there) to know when these ships move? Do I need to keep a calendar (out of game) on this?

2. I was previously told that each mega ships log can only be scanned once. Does that mean once period, or once in each system the ship moves to?

3. I have all these mail entries in my inbox on the ships that I've scanned. Do I need to hold on to all these messages, or is there some tool in the game to keep up with these ships and their movements? For example, there have been several times when I've gotten missions from different stations in different systems that send me to scan ships I've already scanned. I fly all the way out there (sometime 10+ jumps away) just to find out I've already scanned that particular ship. what a waste of time.

4. What's with the hackable data arrays on these mega ships? I've tried to use the data-link scanner on them but nothing seems to happen. I believe I heard that you have to use Recon Limpets on them. What's the purpose of this?

2 weeks rather than 3. They move every other Thursday, mostly on the same Thursday as each other.

Yes, once it moves you can re-scan it.

Other than holding onto the messages, no.

If you scan them with the data link scanner you'll get the ability to sub-target the data array to find hacking points (either 1 or 2).
If you use a recon limpet on each hacking point, two things will happen:
1) this is illegal for most megaships, so you'll get a bounty, it'll start shooting at you and authority ships will show up too. If you have decent shields you can probably ignore this for long enough to get the data and run away.
2) when the limpet completes you'll get a data package which can be sold for a small amount of cash, and some data materials which can be used later to pay an engineer to improve your ship's modules.
